Poetry International invites you to come and celebrate the launch of our newest journal, Issue 17 on Sunday, December 11th. Contributors, advisory board members, and editorial staff will read from the newest issue, which contains features on Caribbean and Romanian poetry,poetry and the natural world, as well as portfolios by Steve Scafidi, M.A. Vizsolyi, Carol Frost, Malena Mörling, William Heyen, and more! Feel free to bring cheese, wine, and other snacks for this holiday affair. We hope to see you there! This event is free and open to the public, so please bring your friends, families, and/or neighbors!
Michael Collier will be reading Thursday, November 10, at 7:00 pm in the Love Library Rm 430.
Michael Collier is the author of five books of poetry, a translation of Euripedes' Medea, and has edited three anthologies of poetry. From 2001 to 2004 he was the Poet Laureate of Maryland. He is the director of the Bread Loaf Writers' Conference, the oldest literary conference in the United States, and a professor of creative writing at the University of Maryland, College Park.
Kate Bernheimer will be reading Monday, November 14, at 7:00 pm in the Love Library Rm 430.
Kate Bernheimer has published novels, stories, children's books, and essays on fairy tales, and has edited three influential fairy-tale anthologies. In 2005, she founded, and currently remains editor of, Fairy Tale Review, the leading literary journal dedicated to fairy tales as a contemporary art form.
Poetry International, in association with the Polyphonic Workshop and Reading Series, The Poetry Translation Club, and The Writer's Collective, is proud to announce its Spring Reading and Workshop Series.
