Federico Moramarco Poetry International Prize for Teaching

To honor the founder of Poetry International and a long-time professor in the Department of English and Comparative Literature, we are pleased to announce the first Federico Moramarco Poetry International Prize for Teaching.

A $300 award will be given for the best proposal or description of the experience of teaching Poetry International in the classroom. The deadline is August 1, 2012.

To apply for this award, please send an e-mail to poetry.international@yahoo.com with the subject line Moramarco Prize. Include two paragraph proposal or description of teaching Poetry International in your classroom. The award will be given for the best plan or record of teaching this literary journal to students.

Poetry International is an annual literary journal of international reputation that has published Nobel Laureates and Pulitzer Prize winners alongside features on poets and poetics from around the world. Founded by the late Federico Moramarco two decades ago, and widely praised by readers and authors alike, it continues its focus on discovering and bringing new work to US audiences.
